Therapy for the Transition Into Motherhood

Nothing rivals the life transformation that comes with becoming a mother. Whether you’re pregnant, newly postpartum, or adjusting to life with older children, motherhood can bring enormous emotional, relational, and identity shifts that often feel invisible to the outside world.

Therapy offers a space to process the parts of motherhood that can feel difficult to say out loud — the overwhelm, grief, anxiety, loneliness, resentment, or uncertainty that can coexist alongside deep love for your child. It’s also an opportunity to reconnect with yourself: who you are now, what you need, what matters to you, and how you want this next chapter of your life to feel.

Postpartum Anxiety & Depression

Postpartum anxiety and depression are far more common than many women realize, yet they can feel incredibly isolating and frightening when you’re living through them. The hormonal, emotional, relational, and physical shifts that come with new motherhood can leave you feeling unlike yourself — overwhelmed, emotionally numb, anxious, hopeless, or consumed by fear and self-doubt.

You do not have to navigate this season alone. Therapy can provide both emotional and practical support to help you feel more grounded, understood, and connected to yourself again as you move through the transition into motherhood.

For many women, motherhood intensifies ADHD symptoms in ways that can feel overwhelming and deeply discouraging. Systems that once worked may suddenly fall apart, leaving you feeling disorganized, overstimulated, emotionally reactive, constantly behind, or unable to keep up with the demands of daily life.

Many high-achieving women with ADHD carry significant shame around struggling, especially when they feel like everyone else is managing motherhood more easily. Therapy can help you better understand how ADHD impacts your nervous system, emotions, relationships, routines, and sense of self — while also developing supportive systems, realistic expectations, and practical strategies that work for your actual life.

ADHD & Motherhood

Therapy for Overwhelmed Moms

Modern motherhood can feel relentless. Between careers, relationships, parenting, emotional labor, and the constant mental load of managing daily life, many women feel like they are always behind, overstimulated, and running on empty.

My clients are often high-achieving women who appear high-functioning on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, and exhausted by the pressure to hold everything together. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand the patterns keeping you stuck in survival mode, regulate your nervous system, and build more sustainable ways of living, relating, and caring for yourself.

Couples & Mental Load
Support

Many couples enter parenthood without realizing how dramatically parenthood and family life can shift the balance of emotional labor, household responsibilities, communication, and partnership. Over time, this invisible mental load can create resentment, disconnection, conflict, and exhaustion for both partners.

Using principles from the Fair Play Method and Gottman Method, I help couples build more intentional systems for communication, division of labor, emotional connection, and daily life. Together, we work to reduce overwhelm, strengthen partnership, and create family rhythms that feel more supportive, collaborative, and aligned with your shared values.
